Permanent exhibition

In addition to the special exhibitions, the Prinzhorn Collection Museum also has a permanent exhibition. Entitled The Prinzhorn Collection - from "Lunatic Art" to Outsider Art, around 120 works from a psychiatric context from the mid-19th century to the present day provide a brief insight into the 40,000-strong collection.

Anniversary exhibition

Madness! In 2026, the Prinzhorn Collection Museum at Heidelberg University Hospital will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. The anniversary exhibition "Alles Kunst?" focuses on a question that has accompanied the museum since its foundation: How can works of visual art from a psychiatric context be exhibited, many of which were never originally intended for the public or were not created as art?
